by Elijah Porter, 2008, Yale school of architecture. a surface cut out of  repatitive patterns seperated by little gaps and connected by tiny bridges. a yet semi-rigid plane transformed into a flexible surface - folded architecture. reminded by patrick.

Balaenoptera Musculus

by tom sachs, 2006.
a life-sized reconstruction of a 18-metre long blue whale. made out of “foamcore, cardboard, and white polyurethane foam, a material often used or architectural models. More than four months were needed to complete the entire structure and cover it with foam core sheeting laminated with hot silicon glue.”

mafoombey

you need a space to hide, you have a lot of cardboard left over? “mafoombey - sound environment by Kalliala and Ruskeepää, a space of corrugated cardboard. made of corrugated cardboard by cutting and piling. The initial concept for the design evolved from an ambition to create a strong spatial intensity within the volume of the dimensions given for the competition. It soon developed into an idea of an intuitive freeform space cut into a rectangular stack of material.” link
